Schistosomiasis: get yourself tested

Schistosomiasis (also called Bilharzia) is a disease caused by parasitic worms, which can be contracted during swimming, bathing or wading in contaminated freshwater. It is most prevalent in Africa and can also be found to a limited extent in South America, the Near East and the Far East. If you believe you were at risk of infection, have yourself tested three months after contact.
